Morgan W. St. John – President

Mr. St. John is President of the Board of Trustees of the J.B. and Emily Van Nuys Charities, a Foundation that grants over $1 million in annual support to Los Angeles County-based human services agencies, with particular emphasis on Agencies having a focus on the prevention of domestic violence.

Mr. St. John has been serving as a trusted advisor to companies, private equity groups, and family offices since 1978. He has personally led over $40 billion of equity investments and highly structured corporate debt in the Americas, Europe and Asia.  Before forming his own business, Morgan was a Partner and Managing Director at Bankers Trust Company. He built the Los Angeles Finance Group and New York Syndication Group to become the industry leaders in highly-structured acquisition financing.

Morgan serves on several corporate boards including as a Director and Audit Chair for the GID Group since 2008 and a Director for TruthMD since 2012.  He is also active in philanthropy and has served on numerous not-for-profit boards and foundations supporting job training, micro-finance, disaster relief, and domestic abuse prevention.

Morgan received his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees with honors from Harvard University.

Robert K. Maloney — Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer

Robert K. Maloney, M.D. is a cataract and LASIK surgeon. Dr. Maloney was the first surgeon in western North America to perform LASIK surgery as part of the original FDA clinical trials.

Dr. Maloney holds eight patents. He is the author of four books and more than one hundred seventy-five articles, abstracts, and reports in professional journals. Dr. Maloney is best known to the general public as the exclusive LASIK surgeon for the long running ABC-TV series Extreme Makeover, where he played himself.

Dr. Maloney is a former Rhodes Scholar and Summa Cum Laude graduate of Harvard University with an A.B. in Mathematics. He read philosophy, politics and economics at Magdalen College, Oxford.

He serves on the Board of Trustees of three other non-profit institutions: the Doheny Eye Institute, one of America’s top ten eye institutes; the American Association of Rhodes Scholars; and Harvard-Westlake School.

Robert is married to Nicole, an accomplished photographic artist whose best-known work is the seventeen-foot high OOMO cube at the Japanese-American National Museum in downtown Los Angeles.

 
 

 
 

Terry Dibble – Past President

Mr. Dibble has served with distinction as a trustee of the J.B. and Emily Van Nuys Charities for thirteen years and served as President and Chairman of the Board for eleven of those years. Under Terry’s leadership, VNC narrowed its focus to making significant grants exclusively in the field of intimate partner violence prevention.

Terry joined the Firm of Peat Marwick Mitchell & Co. in 1969, where he became Partner in 1980. He retired in 2009 from his position as U.S. Partner in Charge, Risk Management Advisory Services at KPMG LLP in New York, after a 40-year career with KPMG in auditing and consulting advisory services. At KPMG Terry served on the Firm’s Ethics and Compliance Committee, the Global Risk Management and US Professional Practice Committees and Advisory Services Management Committees.

Terry and wife Eva have three children, Beckie, Ryan and Jennie, and five grandchildren. They have resided in Palos Verdes Estates, CA since 1984.

Terry graduated from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.

Audrey Salzburg — Executive Director

Audrey Salzburg has a diverse background in both the nonprofit and corporate sectors. In 2007, she joined the national healing arts education nonprofit A Window Between Worlds, ending her tenure as their Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, she oversaw all aspects of the agency and stewarded countless key relationships at the corporate, foundation and individual level.

Audrey’s experience in the corporate world includes serving as Co-Creative Director of Young & Rubicam (Y&R) International out of Brussels, where she managed and executed all aspects of marketing and communications for companies such as Xerox, Pepsi, and City National Bank in fourteen countries across Western Europe.

A Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and a Certified Professional Behavioral and Values Analyst, Audrey has extensive qualifications as an executive coach, consultant and facilitator. She is also a founding member of the Los Angeles County Trauma and Resiliency-Informed Systems Change Workgroup.

Audrey earned a Bachelor of Science from Brooklyn College in Speech Pathology and Audiology.

Terry was impressed by their dedicated volunteer coaches and commitment to training and inspiring nonprofit leaders to better serve their organizations and communities.
